As they say;
As subtle as a sledgehammer.
Now when I think about it, I've never really been known for my tact. If you have something to say or want to know something then why bother tip toeing around it, just speak. I don't see why you should hide behind tact it actually can cause more trouble than it's worth.
When you really start to think about it tact can get you in so much trouble and even change your personality for the worst, you may turn nice, god forbid. For example, using tact means you have to be even just a little bit nice but being nice also means you my have to use tact at some time or another, it’s a two way street and your on a collision course. By this time reality should have kicked in and you should have a bunny rabbit caught in the headlights of an on coming car look on your face, terrifying so it is. Best of all, tact can be a fickle and evil tool, when you decide to use tack and be nice it turns on you and takes a big bite out of your furry ass just to prove my point, its over rated, I told you so.
"Show a little tact", why on earth would you like to show tact to some poor sod who needs to be told the truth.
Here are a few examples.
1)
"Look mate, she wasn't worth it, it wasn't you, she just needed time to be by herself, some time to think about her life"
"Look mate, she two timed you but wants to keep you around as a spare, you know, just incase. Let's go out and cheer you up."
If you used tact, you would have only posponed the pain of finding out and it would have been worse at a later stage. Plus you would have just lied to a close friend, he'll thank you for the truth later.
